New: convert HEIC, WebP and AVIF images without uploading them
Two things keep coming up when people share pictures: iPhone photos arrive as HEIC files the other person can’t open, and images saved from websites turn out to be WebP. Send Shed now has a free image converter for both, and it works without uploading anything.
What it does
Drop in HEIC, WebP, AVIF, PNG, JPG, GIF or BMP images and get JPG, PNG or WebP back. You can convert a whole batch at once, then download each file or grab them all as one zip. There’s a quality slider for JPG and WebP, and an optional resize if you need smaller files for email or a form with a size limit.
Your photos never leave your device
Most online converters upload your pictures to their server, convert them there and send them back. That’s a lot of trust to hand over for family photos or a scan of your ID. This one runs entirely in your browser: the page loads, and from then on the conversion happens on your own phone or computer. Nothing is sent to us.
Because each image is redrawn from its pixels, the converted file also leaves behind the hidden metadata in the original, including the GPS location most phones attach to photos.
The common ones, one click away
- HEIC to JPG: iPhone photos that open anywhere.
- HEIC to PNG: lossless copies for editing.
- WebP to PNG: images saved from websites, transparency kept.
- WebP to JPG: the same, as smaller files for photos.
- PNG to JPG: shrink big screenshots and photos.
- JPG to PNG: when an app or form insists on PNG.
- PNG to WebP: lighter images for your own website.
- AVIF to JPG: for the newest format that older apps can’t open.
A few tips
Stop getting HEIC in the first place. On an iPhone, open Settings → Camera → Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG.
Transparent backgrounds turn white in JPG, because JPG can’t store transparency. Pick PNG or WebP for logos and stickers.
Safari can open WebP but can’t save it. To convert to WebP, use Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Converting from WebP works everywhere.
Then send it
Once the files are converted, Quick Share gives you a link to send them, free and with no account, up to 3 GB per file. The link stays up as long as people keep using it.
