Send Shed
Peer to peer

Send a huge file directly

For files too big to upload. It goes straight from your browser to theirs, end-to-end encrypted, and is never stored on Send Shed. Keep this tab open until they've received it.

Any size. Drop it here, or click to choose.

How it works

Your browser and theirs connect directly with WebRTC, the same technology video calls use. The file is split into pieces and each piece is encrypted with a key that's only in the link, after the #. Send Shed only helps the two browsers find each other and never receives the file.

Things to know

  • Keep this tab open until the other person has the file. If you close it, the link stops working.
  • Chrome and Edge on a computer save straight to disk, so any size works. Other browsers hold the file in memory, which suits files up to a few gigabytes.
  • Because the connection is direct, each of you can see the other's IP address, as on a video call.
  • Some office and mobile networks block direct connections. If it can't connect, use Quick Share or Encrypted Share instead.
