Send a large video from your iPhone

Messages, WhatsApp and email all shrink or refuse long videos. Upload yours here from Safari, up to 3 GB, and send a link instead. The person you send it to gets the original, full-quality video. No app, no account.

No files selected.

"Also delete if untouched" is an extra safety net on top of the expiry above, not a replacement for it — whichever condition is met first deletes the file. A file that keeps getting downloaded still goes at its expiry time either way.

How to send it

  1. Tap Choose files, then Photo Library, and pick the video. You can pick several.
  2. Choose how long the link lasts and, if you like, a download limit or password.
  3. Tap Upload and keep Safari open until it finishes. If the upload is interrupted, it picks up where it left off.
  4. Tap Copy and paste the link into Messages, WhatsApp, Mail or anywhere else.

How long a video fits?

iPhone video setting (HEVC)About per minuteFits in 3 GB
1080p at 30 fps60 MBAbout 50 minutes
4K at 30 fps170 MBAbout 15 minutes
4K at 60 fps400 MBAbout 7 minutes

Per-minute sizes are the approximate figures Apple lists in Settings → Camera → Record Video. Longer? Split the clip, or create a free account for Encrypted Share, which allows up to 5 GB per file.

Why not just use Messages or WhatsApp?

iMessage stops at about 100 MB and compresses videos, which is only a minute and a half of 1080p. WhatsApp compresses normal video sends and caps them at about 16 MB. See the iMessage limit and WhatsApp limit for details.
