Common 100 KB limits
Job portals, school and university applications, and ID or proof-of-address uploads often allow 100 KB per image. At this size a head-and-shoulders photo or a phone photo of a document still looks sharp.
Getting the best result
- Photograph documents in good light and crop away the table around them; clean edges compress better.
- JPG is the safe choice for forms. WebP gets slightly better quality at the same size, but many upload forms don't accept it.
- Several files? Add them all at once and download them as one zip.
Questions
How do I compress a JPEG to 100 KB?
Choose the image, keep the target at 100 KB, and download the result. Quality is lowered first; the picture is only made smaller if that isn’t enough.
Does compressing to 100 KB remove location data?
Yes. The image is redrawn from its pixels, so GPS location and camera details in the original are not carried over.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The compressor runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
